Role: Stage Design Project: Noisily Stage Client: Noisily Date: 2023 - present

Rooted in the underground electronic music scene, Noisily Festival is renowned for crafting a holistic environment where attendees can immerse themselves into the surrounding nature.
Working closely with festival organisers, it was our responsibility to create a main stage that considers its woodland setting.
Our main reference was the brand’s strong identity, along with references of ancient temples and spiritual gateways. This led us to leave plenty of negative space between the assets, combined with our use of mirrors, gives an etherial presence; light in a way that seems not to be of this world.

WOMAD

Role: Stage design & fabrication
Project: Main stage
Client: WOMAD
Date: 2019
—
One of the industry's most established and loved events, WOMAD international arts festival has spent the last 30 years celebrating the best music, arts and dance the world has to offer.
After undergoing a rebrand earlier in the year, WOMAD approached us to develop a concept for a brand new main stage. After initially designing a full stage set, which utilised their new contemporary glyphs, we decided to focus on their logo as a stage header and create an object that was beautiful in its own right. This allowed us to build a striking mosaiced mirror that reflected a delightfully abstract image of the crowd without the need of special effects - no matter the weather, light or environment.

The Royal Academy of Arts

Role: Set design & fabrication
Project: Summer Lates - Courtyard Stage
Client: The Royal Academy of Arts
Date: 2019
—
Pleasure Gardens were an extraordinary Georgian concept designed to showcase the latest in entertainment, art and music, and give Londoners a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The Royal Academy of Arts decided to celebrate these fantastical compositions by using their building and exhibition spaces to recreate one as part of their Summer Lates programme.
We were lucky enough to be tasked with devising and building the Courtyard Stage. To ensure the construction stayed true to the events 18th century roots, the brief demand that it be bright, colourful, vibrant, kitsch and floral, with subverted traditional English garden design elements.
So, we created a stunning multi-layered stage in the Memphis style. By juxtaposing the stunning architectural features of its setting, this design choice accentuated the grandeur of Burlington House while perfectly complementing the performance of the events headliner, Little Gay Brother.

Project: Fireball Whisky brand activation
Client: Positive Experience LTD
Date: 2019
—
A smooth whisky with a fiery kick, Fireball has already blazed a trail across the bars and clubs of North America. 2019 was time for it to spark havoc on the European scene.
As part of a season of launch events, we were asked to produce a fully functional flight case bar that could be used for all Firebrand brand activations, starting with Snow Bombing Festival high up in the Austrian Alps.
The all-singing-all-dancing flight cases we produced were inspired by the companies rock’n’roll branding and included:
• Canvas roof cover
• Neon flex sign
• Laser cut backlit logo
• LED Stage lighting
• Ice box and bottle tray
• Till draw
• Stock storage
• Fridge
• Power inlet
We didn’t stop there either. When being transported, they contain all their own lighting, roof poles and canvas, and fully pack down into themselves, with no extra boxes or crates required. Quite simply, if Mary Poppins’ bag was a flight case, this is what it would look like.
